Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the Tact browser extension ("Tact", "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service
Tact is a browser extension that analyses the tone of text you highlight and offers AI-powered rewrites in a chosen mood. The Service operates across Chrome and Firefox browsers and communicates with a hosted API to deliver analysis and rewrite functionality.
3. User Accounts and Tiers
Tact offers a Free tier and paid subscription tiers (Core and Power). Free tier usage is subject to daily limits. Paid tiers are subject to monthly limits as described on the pricing page. Limits are enforced automatically and may change with notice.
4. Payments and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed through Paddle, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to Paddle's terms of service and privacy policy in addition to these terms. All prices are in USD. Taxes are collected and remitted by Paddle where applicable.
Early adopter pricing is locked in for 12 months from the date of purchase. After that period, subscriptions renew at the standard rate unless cancelled.
5. Refunds
Refund requests made within 7 days of purchase will be honoured in full, provided fewer than 50 analyses have been used in that period. Requests outside this window are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Contact hello@tact.center to request a refund.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Tact to analyse or rewrite content for the purpose of harassment, deception, fraud, or any unlawful activity. You agree not to attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Tact API. Accounts found in violation of this policy may be suspended without refund.
7. Privacy and Data
Text you highlight and submit for analysis is sent to the Tact API and processed by Anthropic's Claude model. This text is not stored permanently, logged against your identity, or used to train AI models. Usage counts (number of analyses and rewrites) are stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local and are not transmitted to Tact's servers. 8. Intellectual Property
Tact and all associated branding, code, and content are the property of the operator. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal or professional purposes. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service.
9. Disclaimers
Tact is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Tone analysis is generated by an AI model and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated rewrite before using it. Tact is not liable for any consequences arising from the use of AI-generated content.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tact's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim. Tact is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.
11. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be communicated via email where possible.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
